MATCO weld overlays are manufactured by specially manufactured welding machines, with unique process technology to weld chromium carbide hard facing layer onto the substrate.

Customizability:

MATCO Wear-Resistant Plates are available in a range of thicknesses and can be customized according to various overlay alloy/substrate combinations that are produced with either single or double pass overlay layers. Using the open arc welding process, MATCO Plate overlays are prominent in a wide and smooth bead shape with a clearly defined and well-developed pattern of stress cracking, which exhibits outstanding resistance to wear. Visible cracks on the surface are formed to release stress. They exist only in the hard facing overlay and do not progress into the substrate.

 

The microstructure of MATCO Wear-Resistant Plates is a mixture of high volume hexagonal-shaped chromium carbides in tough austenitic and martensitic matrices.
